Our Ethos: Nurture - Visioning-Growth
“Where love germinates, peace is harvested!” - Israelmore Ayivor
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together in unity and celebrate Lammas on 1st August at Earthship Brighton. Bring your own picnic to relax and meet with friends, make new ones - enjoy the space, the view, and being in nature.
Through a balance of carefully crafted activities, games and ceremonies, you will have ample time to count your blessings and give thanks for all that you are harvesting. This will help your dreams to manifest fully for Autumn Equinox and beyond. This is what we are offering:
- Yoga, Meditation: experiencing a regenerative guided meditation and gentle, restorative Yoga for children and adults.
- Forest School Crafts: Activities to help create natural offerings for Lammas.
- Face painting, music and games.
- Tea and Cake: Foraged herbal teas, and lush vegan cake (N.B: Please bring a picnic).
- A Traditional Despacho Ceremony (Honouring the generosity and gifts of Mother Earth).
There will be many opportunities to deeply connect to these powerful and joyful Lammas energies and to the heart of our fertile Mother Earth.
A Despacho is an Andean practice of creating ceremonies to the mountains, Mother Earth, and nature spirits in reciprocity and gratitude. The 1st of August is a very special day in the Andean calendar, as it is New Year's Day for the Q'ero nation. So this is a wonderful time to set your intention for the year ahead and also to make a commitment to your own spiritual practice.
This Despacho or Haywariqui ceremony is to help build a rainbow bridge, an act of Ayni or reciprocity to enable us all to work together in harmony.
This ceremony will help to bring us into alignment with our personal intent, our group intent, and our immense gratitude for the earth. This can help us dream of a new world into being for our children’s children.
Lammas is traditionally the first corn harvest and a tribal gathering where communities shared their news, worked and played together. The corn and barley are turning a beautiful golden colour in the fields, the first fruits are ripening. It's time to be outdoors as much as we can and to enjoy the sunlight while it lasts.
This magical day is created for us to celebrate the cultivated and wild gifts of the earth, all that we have created together so far this year. We hope that it will help you to feel nurtured, inspired, and ready to continue harvesting the creative energy and potential of Lammas and beyond.
"This is often a holiday period and gives us time to take a reflective look at ourselves. In the spring we planted the seeds of our hopes, our dreams, and ourselves. Some things may have manifested and some not. The Lammas assessment helps us to have a deeper understanding of our actions and ourselves at this point in time" - Glennie Kindred
The Earthship is a beautiful, sustainably built, peaceful sacred space that's connected to the land. Here you can share a safe sacred circle with other like-minded souls. Your day will be gently guided by the following highly skilled and experienced practitioners: Ali Rabjohns, Victoria Cooper, Caroline Mellor, and Joanna McEwen.
