We offer the following activities and workshops that cover specific environmental topics:
Green woodworking: Looking at the sustainable use of our woodlands for such things as Housing and Heating as well as making pencils from willow and charcoal to take home. This activity is run in and around a traditional Mongolian yurt (tent).
Recycling Workshop: Reducing our waste is one of the best ways for us to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. This can be achieved by making useful things from redundant materials, which can be taken home. Run by Green Up Your Act Education.
Eco gardening: Growing in a way to benefit the soil and to increase biodiversity through activities like mulching raised beds, forest gardening and creating wildlife habitats. A potentially messy and very hands-on activity.
Composting: Learning about the process of Composting and how essential it is for improving the soil and the health of plants. Look at a working wormery and discover how easy it is to do back at school or home.
Plants and herbs: Thinking about how and where our food is sourced and what we can do minimise the related Energy used to get it on our plate. This includes tasting some exciting and unusual foods and covers Healthy Living.
